Pressman House Publishing is pleased to announce the forthcoming launch of Anne Nolan’s book New Beginnings.
The two time Sunday Times bestselling author, Anne Nolan. The eldest of the Irish institution that is The Nolans, is set to release the sequel to her 2008 autobiography.
Anne Nolan: New Beginnings will be released on May 20th 2023 by Pressman House. The book picks up where her first autobiography, Anne’s Song, left off, with Anne speaking in depth about family feuds, the pain of losing her younger sister Bernie, reconciling with her sisters, and embarking on their smash hit reality series ‘The Nolan’s Go Cruising’.
This long-awaited sequel includes the fallout Anne suffered after speaking about the sexual abuse she endured at the hands of her father. As well as recent financial difficulties in the aftermath of her divorce.
For the first time Anne pens the sense of betrayal she felt when sisters Bernie, Coleen, Linda, and Maureen embarked on a multi-million-pound reunion tour in 2009. To mark the 30th anniversary of The Nolans biggest selling hit, I’m In The Mood For Dancing. The record that Anne recorded and promoted with her sisters, yet she was being excluded from the party.
The news of the family fall out soon dominated headlines and for the months following the tour, before younger sister Bernie Nolan’s breast cancer diagnosis eventually brought them back together. The sisters rallied round to care for Bernie, who tragically passed away in 2013.
In 2020 Anne was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, a fight she knew all too well having beaten breast cancer twenty years earlier. Anne details the incredible twist of fate that saw her enduring chemotherapy alongside her younger sister Linda, whose own cancer had spread.
Ahead of her upcoming book launch Anne says, “I’m so glad to be coming home to launch my book, I’ve spent so much time here since my illness. This book has been in the works for the last 6 years and at one stage was thrown in a drawer, never to be released. However, now I’m in my seventh decade, I feel the need to tell my own story on what happened during certain times in my life.”
